Dr. Dan Metz has been involved in vehicle dynamics and accident reconstruction research and development for five decades. His concentration has been on four-wheeled vehicles but he's also worked on motorcycle and bicycle dynamics. He is particularly interested in the behavior of two- and four-wheeled vehicles involved in accidents when they encounter road irregularities and asperities, as well as under hydroplaning conditions, and has published groundbreaking work in this area.

Dr. Dan Metz has reconstructed more than 1,200 road accidents and 75 racing accidents in his consulting and research career. He has worked with numerous organizations, clients and companies. He has recently developed a new approach to tire hydroplaning, spotlighted in a number of Society of Automotive Engineering peer-reviewed research papers. He has testified in numerous trials and given dozens of depositions in his research and reconstruction career.

Dr. Dan Metz has conducted seminars and presented numerous peer-reviewed scientific papers on the subjects of vehicle dynamics, accident reconstruction, race car performance, human control performance and the handling properties of two and four-wheel passenger cars and race cars. He has taught at the University of Illinois, the Society of Automotive Engineers Congress and Exposition, and numerous companies throughout the United States and Western Europe.
